About DentistTracker

Finding an NHS dentist shouldn't mean phoning twenty practices to be told "sorry, our list is closed" twenty times. Yet that's the reality for millions of people in England's so-called dental deserts.

The frustrating part: the information about who's accepting new patients does exist. Every practice reports it to the NHS website, and is asked to keep it current every 90 days. It's just hard to use — scattered across thousands of individual profile pages, with no way to see your whole town at a glance, no history, and no way to know if anything changed since you last looked.

DentistTracker puts all of it in one place. We check the official NHS record for every dental practice in England every day, organise it by town, show you exactly when each practice last confirmed its status, and track every change — so when a practice near you opens its list, you can be first in the queue.

Our principles

  • Honest data. We show you exactly what each practice reported and when — including when the answer is "this practice hasn't confirmed recently". We never dress up stale data as fresh.
  • Free to use. Finding an NHS dentist is stressful enough. The tracker is free, with no sign-up walls.
  • Independent. We're not affiliated with the NHS, any dental practice or any dental chain. No practice can pay to change how it appears.
